Earl Sampson
Earl Sampson is the founder of CoachingEquation, an Executive
Coaching firm, based in Panama City.Earl, after 19 years, recently left a successful career with The Royal Dutch Shell Company. This career, primarily in the areas of strategy, marketing and sales, has allowed Earl to work in both mature and developing markets, working in many countries and touching many cultures. His last role was that of Commercial General Manager for Shell South Africa where he led a large organisation holding various executive and board roles. Earl has held working assignments for extensive periods in Venezuela and the UK during his career. Earl has been involved in numerous transformation programmes and has worked experience in leadership, change management and business performance improvement.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Earl has gone on to study Commerce (UNISA), Marketing Management (Damelin) and recently Executive Leadership (IMD). Earl is a graduate fellow of the Central America Leadership Initiative, subset of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, who work to enhance values-based, ethical leadership in their countries and communities.
Earl has completed Coaching to Excellence and the Associate Coaching Programme at the Centre for Coaching, Graduate School of Business in Cape Town, affiliated to New Ventures West in the USA. These courses are certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF) in the USA of which Earl is a registered member.
Earl worked closely with a personal coach during the last five years and attributes a large part of his personal and professional growth and success to this experience. His deep understanding of the corporate world and executive life brings invaluable insight to his coaching.
Earl’s coaching style and philosophy while in the corporate world, was a key lever to his success. Earl received much praise for his coaching work on the Executive Leadership Program at the Graduate School of Business in South Africa
Earl is fluent in both Spanish and English and has recently moved to Panama City where he lives with his wife and young son. He enjoys the outdoors, runs and practices yoga to keep fit, reads extensively and is learning to play the guitar.
